Why do celebrities seem to be the targets of I.R.S probes? In my "The Tax Man Cometh" post I wrote about how the I.R.S. dogged Heavyweight champion Joe Louis for years.
Many a celebrity has learned they also need to have someone else overseeing the folks who are counting the money? But others in our Top 15 have even better excuses.
The truth is that celebrities who earn significant amounts of money have to recognize that they are not like the rest of us common folks.
They are the "product" and should have systems and processes in place which account for every dime they earn and subsequently spend. Unfortunately this requires hiring business managers and accountants with expertise in tax law and their hourly fees can be several hundred dollars an hour.

I don't really feel sorry for the folks who made the "mega" bucks, for everyone know's that the the "rich get richer" and the "poor get poorer".When you are making million's what's a few hundred dollar's an hour to a person hopefully will help you save million's!? I think "Blade" got his butt cut by the IRS.....

This is crazy.............how in the heck do they expect someone to pay if they can't earn a living!? Why could they not let him do what he does (perform) and take a precentage of the ticket sales!

I have to admit that I'm not really concerned about these rich people who are too cheap to pay their
taxes. My concern is with the "little guy" who probably can't afford to pay any taxes. Since only 1% of the U.S. population controls 90% of the wealth in this country, that 1% ought to be responsible for paying all the taxes.

There is something behind the throne greater than the King himself - Sir William Pitt, House of Lords 1770. ...The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes - Benjamin Dislaeli, English Statesmen 1844. ...The real truth of the matter is that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government since the days of Andrew Jackson - Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933.
