Hip-hop "mogul" Irv Gotti has gotten tremendous criticism for mistreating his estranged wife, Deb. Let's be real, Irv is mean and appears to be highly inconsiderate. He cheats on Deb openly, disrespects her and doesn't seem to care if she stays or goes.
"Irv Gotti treats his wife worse than an abandoned dog in a pound," says black celebrity gossip columnist, Lady Drama. "Any man who treats his wife like that should walk through hell with gasoline soaked pants."
But while Irv does his thing and does it wherever and with whomever he likes, his wife may not necessarily be an innocent victim. She has the opportunity to leave him and be with another man. She can draw boundaries on the relationship and not deal with his behavior. But she does not. Why is that?
In this episode of Financial Lovemaking with Dr. Boyce, we talk about Gotti and what he and his wife can do to make things right. We also answer some critical and important questions.

Damon Dash & Rachel Roy: Four Years

Wayne Brady & Mandie Taketa: Nine Years
Cheesy singer/game-show host/comedian Wayne Brady and his wife of nine years Mandie Taketa split in April 2008 after a long separation. The official reason for the divorce was "irreconcilable differences," but Mandie was probably just tired of him spontaneously breaking into song.

Tracy Morgan & Sabina Morgan: 22 Years
In 2007, Sabina Morgan threatened to divorce her well-known husband, Tracy, who spent a good part of that year with a court-ordered alcohol-monitoring bracelet around his ankle. She didn't go through with it until January of 2008. She cited the '30 Rock' star's drinking problem as her reason. Do you blame her?

Pink & Carey Hart: Two Years
They started out as an unorthodox couple -- singer Pink was the one who did the proposing to her motocross-star boyfriend, Carey Hart -- and they ended up an unorthodox divorced couple. The two say their relationship became stronger after they split in February.

Morgan Freeman & Myrna Colley-Lee: 24 Years
When Morgan Freeman got in a serious car accident on a lonely Mississippi highway back in August of '08 with a woman who was not his wife, he probably figured the cat was out of the bag. Before he left the hospital, Freeman announced he was undergoing divorce proceedings with his wife of 24 years.

Madonna & Guy Ritchie: Eight Years
The union of Madonna and director husband Guy Ritchie came to an end last fall, weeks after tabloids began speculating about an affair between Madge and baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez. Swizz Beatz & Mashonda: Four Years
Producer Swizz Beatz and singer Mashonda's separation last year seemed like ordinary marital discord, but the situation turned scandalous when rumors surfaced that Alicia Keys might be to blame. All parties have denied the allegations, but the rumors definitely made the divorce fodder for gossip blogs.

Kanye West & Alexis Phifer: Six Years (on and off)

Eddie and Tracey made a fast transition from happily married to bitterly divorced. Star Jones & Al Reynolds: Four Years
They said it wouldn't last... and they were right. Star and Al's improbable union, which began in November of 2004 with a highly-publicized New York City extravaganza, ended when the former 'View' co-host filed divorce papers in March of '08. What's Al Reynolds to do now that he's no longer Mr. Star Jones?

When should the woman draw the line on a man's behavior? If a woman is being mistreated by a man, is it her fault for allowing for the mistreatment or should he know to treat her with more respect? What if a man has a lot of money, does that give him greater boundaries for good or bad behavior? What about the children? Should you endure tough relationships for the sake of the kids?
Dr Boyce Watkins and S. Tia Brown break down the issues behind the Gotti relationship and how the Gotti family can find ways to make their lives better. They also battle back and forth on whether it is Mr. or Mrs. Gotti who needs to shape up or ship out. Click below to listen!

I love this blog!!! S. Tia Brown and Dr. Boyce both make valid points but I would like to know if Irv Gotti made his desire to 'step out' on Deb known prior to walking down the aisle. If so, then he should be commended for his honesty and Deb shoul have her head examined for agreeing to such a thing. If he did not then shame on him. What men fail to realize (and some women) is that waiting until someone is head over heels for you to say "Oh yeah, I plan to have various women/men on the side" is selfish. At this point a person's right to cut their losses before their feelings get involved is gone. Be honest up front not a year down the road when wedding bells are ringing.

If you are foing to play the 'game' then play the 'game', if you're retiring your jersey then retire the jersey, but don't have your agent trying to figure what is going on. Either way it is going to cost you something, but it'll cost a lot more if you claim to have retired but you're caught in a pick up game or two every now and then!!!

Let's be real, that girl's just stupid. She needs to realize that a man running around having sex with other women is only going to give you a venereal disease and/or ruin your life. If she doesn't get away from him, she will surely regret it.

I've said it before on the actual shows message board. Deb can't do anything until she first begins to love herself. Then, she has to make some necessary changes in her life. She knows he's living foul.....AIDS does not descriminate. I don't think she can do anything but leave, heal, grow and move on. I'm all for working at your marriage (because it is a job, you get out what you put in). But it takes two. Irv does not appear to want the same thing. If she doesn't make changes and soon, she will be "one of those angry, bitter black women" She deserves to be happy. The children will follow her lead.

The truth is that none of us knows whats up in that relationship. She might already has some serious STDs that she got from his foolishness. There's a whole bunch of dudes running around with diseases still getting busy with women and not telling them and most of these men are not getting tested for AIDS. She needs to think about her kids and watch out for all that.

IRV has some s*&$T with him! HE has low self esteem. He does not love his self if he is sleeping with no protection. He isn't rolling in the dough like he was back in the early 2000s. But, Deb needs to love GOD, herself and the kids and bounce on his IRV. He ain't even fine. Please she can get REAL money maker.
