And we're suppose to what? Oh, I guess follow her every word like the lemmings who flock to her show. Please, if you listen to her, you'll find that she, along with most of her "gals" are alone, overweight and desperate for approval. They're just not balanced.

What gives Oprah the unique perspective to annoint these Women of Power? Do millions of dollars autmatically make a person credible?

Well, my opinion is...when you do good things for other people, being on a "list" or being recognized should be the last thing on your mind.
By the way, all I saw on the list being recognized were "African Americans" did I miss something or is Oprah missing someone???

Anna Deveare Smith? Please. Lily Tomlin has been doing this kind of theatre and doing it better for years. Smith's theatre is basically docudrama; she records people and then immitates them -hardly original.
And truly, there is nothing transformative about her as an actress. She is an overrated academician.

About time people are seeing her for what she is. If she were so concerned about America's future she would giv out most of the money she makes, keeping only what she needs to live on, maybe a million or two. Last week I watched her show about generous people helping others. There were some very kind hearted guest there. These were the people she should have offered all kinds of money, but she applauded for them...well, Oprah, that and dollar will pay for coffee. And whoever said the audiance is there for the give aways is absolutely correct. After just a few of the kind hearted people were on, and she didn't give them anything, I turned the show OFF.

What a momentus time period we current live-in! It is overwhelmingly pleasing while simultaneously incredibly emotional for me to be witness to powerful African-Americans showing accolades and/or deeply, heartfelt appreciation to other powerful minorities (Latin, AFr.Amer, Asian, Jewish, etc.). In times past, minorities scampered and scraped to cash-in for a mere second of opportunity to be presented on some Euro-centric "powers list" as an added token to a lily white portfolio of mega-millionairs and billionaires that fit only the Euro-aesthetics and ideaologies of being. Any form of anger or displeasure associated with such media representations are simply major indications of a subconsciously racist mind that can not digest minorities actually loving and honoring other minorities in America/World. As for the minorities that do no appreciate such movements; please research and study "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and/or "The House Negro". Your negative rebutals to such praise is similar to having a "cultural stokholm syndrome"; in my humble opinion. LONG-LIVE OPRAH'S POWER LIST! AMEN!

The real racist is you dear. You overlooked the whole list and simply saw race. If the list contained only "lily whites" as you call them, we would have seen you rant with an opposite view. How many times a day do you do this....overlook an issue, a subject, a circumstance and see it only for the color of it? Maybe it is you that should go read a book.
