Our second topic of discussion was Michael Vick. I personally believe that in spite of media reports to the contrary, Nike is still waiting in the wings to sign Vick to a real deal, because Vick has always been the real deal among NFL athletes. The great challenge for Vick is that he has to start from scratch to rebuild his respectability as a top notch quarterback. He also has to let that 'dog fighting' issue get behind him.
I recently did an online webchat about Michael Vick, which explores the similarities between Michael Vick and Jack Johnson, the first African American heavyweight champion of the world. You'll notice that the way America has vilified black male athletes is nothing new to our country - there is a long history behind it.

Comparing Jack Johnson to Michael Vick is like comparing apples to oranges. Jack Johnson was a fighter not a football player. He did not have 10 other people in the ring with him to help him, he stood on his own two feet. He was also a gentleman who spoke several languages fluently, he had a gentle manner about him and had hand speed so fast he could catch a fly in mid-air with his fingers and not even crush the fly. Jack Johnson wore tailor make clothes and had his cars custom build for him. Johnson always had a smile for everyone both friend and foe. Jack Johnson listened to classical music and attending plays, theater and opera. Jack Johnson was 100% class. Michael Vick is a cold blooded thud who murdered his own dogs with his own hands. He gleefully drowned dozens of his own dogs, he strangled them to death with his own hands, he also electrocuted dogs to death. He did these hideous acts almost on a daily basis. Michael Vick is an animal, not a man. Vick is evil and looks evil. I have no respect for his punk ass and I am sure that God has not yet even begun to punish that sorry son of a bitch. He has some more suffering to do before he leaves this earth. I say piss on Michael Vick and his grave. What he did was unforgivable.

Whatever your opinion of him, he has paid for his crime and should be allowed to move on with his life.

You that mad about some dam dogs. I am old enough to remember how dogs were used by White America to intimidate and attack Black Americans. I can also remember the numerous other crimes committed by White America against Black Americans. I can remember Black men being hung from tree, black churches burned to the ground, and the list of crimes committed against Black Americans by Whites. And the sad part about these crimes most of those who were guilty of committing these crimes were never even brought to justice, and the few that were made a joke of the justice system. What they did to human being is and was unforgivable. You say Michael Vick is the evil one, God hasn't begun to punish him. Well I don't know what God you worship, but the one God I worship has already forgiven him. If you don't want to look at him, why in the hell are you spending time reading and writing about him. You are indeed the evil son of a bitch, I hope that you are free from any sins, if not its almost certain someone will piss on your grave. You are without a nasty person and have absolutely no room to talk about Vick. And who gave you the authority to say what should and shouldn't be forgiven..................no one, therefore you can take your forgiveness and stick it right up your ass.
