"There had been high turnover of employees for years," a past employee told the paper. "She and the higher-ups on the production staff could be extremely brutal," the source says. "She really is a diva."
Banks released a statement recently, stating that she wants to end her show to focus on her film company, Bankable Studios. Tyra also says that the studio will create films that produce more positive images of women. When asked if it is possible that Banks made the switch without telling her staff, a source had this to say:
"It wouldn't be surprising. When the show moved from L.A. to New York, several staffers weren't even directly told about the change - they heard through the grapevine that it was going to move locations. Even so, a lot of those people gave up their lives on the West Coast so they could continue working for the show. Now they're out of luck."
I sincerely hope that Tyra Banks is not the Tyrant that some are proclaiming her to be. But after hearing this disturbing information about Tyra, I had the following thoughts:
1) We can't automatically believe the hype: The bigger you are, the more people say stupid things about you. I am not nearly as well-known as Tyra Banks, but a few hundred national television appearances have earned me both lovers and haters. I recall a colleague once telling me that some of the black scholars she knows told her, "Don't go near Boyce Watkins. He's a complete jerk." I laughed it off, because none of the people who made the comment have actually met me in person - no, I'm not a jerk, but I am tough with those who try to play me. Media can make people larger than life and less human than they deserve to be. Tyra is probably not nearly as brutal as her angry ex-employee wants you believe she is. But I don't doubt for one second that Tyra Banks isn't tough; you don't get to be where she is without fighting some nasty battles in order to get there.
2) If any of these claims about Tyra Banks are true, then I hope Tyra understands the importance of respecting everyone: One of the things I've always believed is that you should respect everyone, no matter what. This is doubly true for the people who work for you, since your employees are the ones who can destroy you the easiest. The same is also true for anyone who has witnessed you doing things that might embarrass you, such as Tiger's mistresses, or an ex-spouse. I hope that Tyra covered her bases well with these people, because a person with a $100 million dollar brand can't just chew people up and spit them out in the age of the Internet.
3) No matter what, Tyra Banks is an amazing talent, a truly bankable brand, and a woman who does a great deal of good for the world:
When asked about the Tyra Banks situation, Dr. Towanna Freeman, one of the leading youth advocates in the country, had this to say:
"Girls love Tyra Banks and that's okay with me. Although Tyra Banks is often labeled a narcissist and criticized for her self-image contradictions, Tyra is a woman of achievement in the community whose life serves as an inspiration for girls to be confident, self-sufficient, and successful."
By fighting back against racism in modeling, as well as bulimia and other problems, Tyra Banks has provided a consistently empowered image to the world and to young women everywhere. Whether she is a little bit of a diva or not, such negatives should never outweigh the numerous positives of her amazing career. Some might consider Tyra Banks to be a diva; but she's also an absolute stud: You can take that straight to the Bank(s).

Its all about the money. What kind of host doesn't interact with the audience between breaks. I have heard about this happening before. I stopped watching her quite a while ago. She wants to be like Oprah. She has a long ways to go. She will never be that humble.

I had a problem with her contradictions. When they published those unflattering photos, she went on the attack, however her show next top model was all about appearances, mainly hers. She seemed like someone who was pretending to be passing the torch, while holding it in a death grip.
I applaud her effort though, it can't be easy to achieve what she has as a model, building your entire career on looks, only to realize that the industry has no use for you.

Tyrant tyra is fake, narcissistic, pretencious, boring & racist. Glad she's gone. Her "bankable studios" better have a lot more to "bank on" than little we've seen she has to offer. *Her comments on Larry King in regards to her opinions about Kanye West's treatment of Taylor Swift @ AMA awards - even I was surprised to see the monotonous, stupid, annoying tyra - taking up for Kanye West. (and I don't even like Taylor Swift)Her "zero" understanding of psychology of the human spirit matches her "zero" personality. good riddance!

The MAJORITY to not say the 99.9% of black people are "difficult" without even having a reason to be. Even the so called preachers and whatever they are, that supposedly are religious people and represent God etc.. well God didnt go around being a jerk to people and treating people bad, he was humble. If there is one thing that black people lack is humbleness and consideration of others. said this its not difficult to believe the bad things that are said about their behavior towards others.

The world we live in has gotten smaller , become more global, yet people's minds have become more close, petty and irrational. It's a wonder we aren't throwing people in jail for life or executing them because "people are saying that...". I work in such a small-minded, petty atmosphere that whatever is said is believed. No one questions anything, thinks rationally, or takes a moment to consider the source of what's said, just go with it and the idiots will follow along.
If Tyra is the businesswoman she appears to be, then she isn't hugging, feeding or coddling her employees. Success in any business requires some toughness, some distant from all the button-pushers and no enabling of the whiners and slackers. It seems highly unlikely that any of this crap is true or it would have been an issue, she isn't a new face to the entertainment world. Why now is she so flawed and out of control? Are some just trying to justify her choice with some sinister plot and secret info as to why she made her decision. After all, successful people must continue to have people hitching rides. It's almost like me saying I stopped because I needed to explore other things, but the hangers on are all yelling that I kicked them out while speeding down the highway!
Thsi country is in a mess because no one seems to have the ability to have rational thoughts. It's most likely that those who were instrumental , efficient, knowledgable and competent will be asked to experience her new endeavors. Those who aren't will trash and defame her, knowing the masses of asses will blindly buy into the nonsense.
I am no fan of Tyra, but admired her spunk, courage and belief in herself. She is no less superficial than the others on TV and is more real than most. She is on the planet to live HER LIFE, no satisfy us with what we want. I say to Tyra...you go girl and do it as effectively as you have done. Live your dream, not ours! The nicest boss in the world will have detractors and the meanest one will have some people serenading them with love songs. That is never a measure of a person, their abilities or their personality. Tyra is doing what she needs to do to fulfill herself, not maintaining some illusion to keep us happy. If she was so bad to work for, then let's question the character of the grumbling ones, who had no back-bone to speak up previously. Perhap's the claimed turnover was because people just couldn't cut it. If you aren't fit, perhap's Tyra makes you quit !
