Halle Berry is not setting a good example for her daughter in terms of respecting the protocol of airport security. Normally, this would not seem like a big deal -- Hollywood A-listers get led to the front of lines all the time. But following on the heels of the recent failed terror attack in the U.S., any breech in airport security seems like too much. Yahoo News reports:Canadian police say it was wrong for one of their officers to whisk Halle Berry, her model boyfriend and baby through airport security.
Police Inspector Jimmy Cacchione said it was the personal initiative of one officer and not something the department supported.
Quebec journalist Marieve Paradis said on her blog Friday, she spotted Berry, her partner, Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, and their child, being led to the front of the security line at a Montreal airport Monday, while other passengers waited more than an hour.
The officer will not be reprimanded and the police airport unit will institute stricter rules for the future, Cacchione added.
Berry's agent Toni Howard was not immediately available for comment.
At this strange time, with many people living on the edge due to terrorism and economic turmoil, it seems strange that a pampered, $15-million-dollar-a-movie actress could not take the time to do a very simple thing the right way. Perhaps the airline employee insisted on letting Ms. Berry and her family skip the line -- but even that act leads one to wonder how carefully these elite patrons were screened by such a lax security agent.
If Halle Berry's fame is enough to lower the screening standards of an airport worker, I worry about how little it must take to make a person responsible for the safety of thousands of people a day "look the other way" in other situations. These workers need to have the highest standards for protocols and rules, making sure as much as humanly possible that nothing slips through security cracks. No airport security person should be creating special avenues, just to hurry people through them.
Halle Berry I am certain meant no harm. But after the White House crashers incident, the Christmas bombing attempt, and numerous reports on the rise of terrorist activity worldwide, I am shocked that she would take this breech of airline security so lightly, just going along. There is so much fear in the air, I fear of a public reprisal against her for taking the liberties with security that were offered to her. Following the shocking report on the Christmas bomber from the White House, Halle Berry skipping an airport security line reminds us all of just how poorly guarded the skies might be.
What might the fall out from this increasing revelation of poor airport security be? Do you think it will effect your choice about whether to fly? If things keep going this way, the airline industry could face a steep decline if consumer confidence in airport safety is not restored.

Of course celebrities and the super rich will never be subject to Nazi oppression like the working class folks! When we are carted off to the Government enslavement camps, they will be sipping champaign and playing golf!

WHICH ONE IS ACTUAL, FIRST SHE IS BEING LED TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE WHICH MEANS SHE JUST SKIPPED AHEAD TO BE SEARCHED, BUT LATER IN THE STORY IT SOUNDS AS IF SHE DIDN'T GO THRU THE CHECK AT ALL. JUST ANOTHER JOURNALIST GOING FOR SENSATIONALISM TO SELL A STORY. IF SHE WASN'T CHECKED THEN THATS A BREACH OF SECURITY BUT IF SHE SKIPPED AHEAD THATS JUST PRIVELEDGE BECAUSE OF HER STATUS.

So poor Gabriel Aubry and his family were late. That's the excuse he provided for going ahead of everybody.
Well, First : next time get up earlier like all of us poor ordinary citizens. Second, Halle Berry and family weren't so late, if when Marieève Paradis who saw them skip ahead, saw them on the plane when she boarded.
They had in reality plenty of time to reach their plane, like everybody else. POOR and INVALID EXCUSES to justify their sense of entitlement.
I guess that the best they could come up with, since the treatment of favour they benefited got everybody so incensed and rightly so.

I have never known celebrities and or politicians to wait inline like the rest of us to board a plane. Why is everyone acting surprised??? In fact i always assumed they had different security rooms/and or areas for them because you always find them already in the plane way before the first class passengers or last in. Stop creating an issue out nothing

While I am not crazy about Halle Berry I do acknowledge her status. However, she should not be given preferential treatment. She ain't that special; at least not to me.

It only makes sense to bring people in the public spotlight, to the front of the line. If not, there will be more chaos as people try to get in their face for pictures, autographs, etc. Just like an accident on the highway, people will stop and gawk, and slow things down ....resulting in a bigger delay. Lighten up, people, it's just the way it is.
