Where do you draw the line between a woman who likes men with money versus a woman who might as well call herself a prostitute? Tiger Woods' alleged ex-mistress, Rachel Uchitel, claims that she's not a hooker or a madam in a recent article that chronicles
the blurring lines of whoredom. But this contradicts reports that she is more than happy to let a wealthy man like Tiger Woods
fill her bank account on account of their sexual affair. Here, sex and money are inextricably linked, even if the woman is in denial about it.
Then again, there are some women who are not so quick to associate with the oldest profession, like actress LisaRaye. Although I would never accuse Raye of engaging in the act of prostitution, she raised some eyebrows when describing her own relationships, which are always based, in part, on her getting money, access to power and gifts.
"Every man that I have ever dated has always been powerful, had money and been generous to me," she told Sister 2 Sister. "My father was my first introduction to power. I am attracted to power. So when people always ask me why you always date a man with money, why in the hell wouldn't I? I have my own lifestyle. It's like, I'm not going for less than what I have. If I can't be spoiled because he is not that generous, loving and caring, I don't want you."

It's not the loving and caring part that makes people wonder. It's the generous part that has men questioning if money is the most basic requirement necessary to get into LisaRaye's heart. Is this just a natural part of attraction, or are there women who are so focused on money that they can't remember what love is all about? Let's also be honest: Many women don't have a problem with what LisaRaye said, whether they admit it or not. So the idea of linking love and money is perfectly fine for many women, and even some men.
The distinction between prostitution and "love with benefits" could be a matter of how blatant the trade happens to be. If a woman is attracted to a wealthy man, our society usually thinks that's all right. But if a woman seeks out a wealthy man, gives him a little bit of everything and passes him a bill at the end of the date, then we might have a problem. Unfortunately, New York magazine has noted, that the latter is a growing trend. Yet those women, like Uchitel, would not call themselves whores. But perhaps there are -- to use the magazine's term with a black slang twist -- half-hoes. The trade of sex and love for material goods in these cases is a clear requirement, even if it's not stated on the outset by both parties or a full-time profession. And a growing number of women are comfortable being half-hoes.

Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
18. LisaRaye
Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but we're sure many men wanted to get cozy with LisaRaye's Diamond from the 1998 drama 'The Players Club.' Sure she played a stripper, but that's not the only reason she made this list. We can attest that working a pole does not necessarily make one sexy -- it takes that extra special something that LisaRaye has shown in every role she's had -- and she works that something to perfection.

Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All Time:
First off, we acknowledge that 'sexiness' is extremely subjective, but since when has that stopped anyone from offering their opinion? It certainly hasn't kept us from taking note of the women who have served it up to us over and over again on the silver screen. That kind of consistency deserves recognition. That's why Black Voices took time out to compile a list of the top 30 sexiest actresses of all time. Although many of the women on our list have excelled in various media throughout their careers, we decided to rank each actress based on their "sex appeal in feature films, roles and scenes." Whether you agree or disagree with our rankings, we want to hear your opinion. Why not give us your own top 30 sexy actresses list? Please post your thoughts, comments and/or opinions in our community message board. Let the sexiness begin!

30. Thandie Newton
It's fitting that British actress Thandie Newton got the lead slot in our countdown. After all, compiling a list like this is sort of a 'Mission Impossible' given the fact that sexiness is completely subjective. Still, Newton sizzles on screen when the role calls for it, whether playing the femme fatale opposite Tom Cruise or the violated wife of Terrence Howard in the 2005 drama 'Crash.' No matter what your taste, leaving Newton off our list would have been an injustice.
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
28. Vivica A. Fox
Vivica Fox managed to heat up the screen even when playing an ice queen a la Mr. Freeze's lusty assistant in 'Batman and Robin.' We should've expected as much from a character named Miss B. Haven. It seems Ms. Fox is destined to live up to her real name, having played sexy roles in 'Booty Call' and 'Two Can Play That Game.'
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
27. Robin Givens
As if posing in a 1994 issue of Playboy Magazine wasn't sexy enough! Robin Givens actually played a sex siren opposite Eddie Murphy in 'Boomerang.' Givens' character Jacqueline ultimately seduces Murphy's character Marcus Graham. Some say she played the same role in real life with her former husband, boxer Mike Tyson.
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
26. Paula Patton
We can see why fellow R&B crooner Robin Thicke decided to put a ring on the finger of this sultry actress (let alone write a song about her). Of course we're sure that's not the only reason, but it couldn't have hurt. Paula Patton makes the list for roles in 'Déjà vu' and 'Idlewild.' Her leading men would be lost without the light she brings to the screen.
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
25. Nichelle Nichols
We couldn't possibly leave the original intergalactic hottie off of this list! If Nichelle Nichols were the future of space travel, what self-respecting Trekkie wouldn't want to get beamed up? We would mention that she was hot enough to entice Captain James T. Kirk into TV's first on-screen interracial kiss, but that wouldn't be saying nearly enough. In her prime Lieutenant Uhura was light years ahead of the competition.
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
24. Eartha Kitt
Eartha Kitt epitomizes sexiness. Just her name evokes the signature purr she unleashed as Catwoman. The eyes, the hands, the voice, the legs -- they all add to her allure -- yet her sexiness is even greater than the sum of her parts. We'll admit we haven't seen most of her movies, but it doesn't take much to be convinced. Besides, have you ever seen her performance of the song Santa Baby?
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
21. Stacey Dash
'Clueless' is what we would've been had we left Stacey Dash off of this list. Even at 42, Dash hasn't lost much (if any) of the sex appeal she had in her twenties. In fact, she could still pass for a twenty-something. (Well, we'd give her a pass on just about anything, but you get the point.) For further research, just check her 'very tasteful' August 2006 Playboy spread.
Top 30 Sexiest Actresses of All-Time
19. Kerry Washington
There's no denying that Kerry Washington belongs in the 19th position on our top 30 list. The talented actress showed how desirable she can be on screen while portraying Ray Charles' wife, Della Bea Howard Robinson, in the 2004 Academy Award-winning film 'Ray.' Just in case you weren't convinced, her turn as an unemployed and unashamed wannabe mistress in Chris Rock's 'I Think I love My Wife' casts all doubts aside (except for the doubt that a sexy woman like her would've been smitten by Chris Rock's nerdy character). We hear it's good to be a king of comedy.

This raises the question of whether or not it's ever fair to explicitly trade sex for money. The economy has hit a rough spot, and there are quite a few women who know that they could get some of their overdue bills paid by allowing a man into her "personal space." As Black Voices has reported earlier, some women are turning to sex work these days out of economic necessity. Is it okay to be a half-hoe then, if it is a matter of survival?
As my brother's book, 'Financial Lovemaking' says, money and love are always going to be linked, whether we like it or not. The age of the "part-time prostitute" may be here to stay, in part, because of the economy and because the link between sex and money is becoming more explicit -- and people seem to be growing comfortable with that.

It is actually a genetic thing - women are predisposed to being attracted to men that can protect and take care of them and their offspring (translation: men with money and power probably get the gals). I mean - do you see a lot of women attracted to homeless men or losers - conversely, those weathly men are not attracted to ugly girls, because men are predisposed (genetically) for physical health and attributes for the survival of their offspring.
Men have held the money and power for so long - anyone recall that men had certain "expectations" when they bought dinner or gifts? If you think of it that way - they "created" this "problem" - but they benefit also......... how many ugly and old rich guys get to hang out with gorgeous young babes........ now I'm sure I have just started a firestorm........ BTW - I am not young, but I do think that the younger generation do not take sex as seriously as my generation did.......

To Walt
Your empty red-herring distractor comments will not deter my message - HYPERGAMY ladies HYPERGAMY.
Hegemony is what applies to the dominance of white men as it pertains to economics.
Like it lump it scream about it being unfair - but it is what it is.
I dare any of you on this board to look those two words up. And report back. Hypergamy / Hegemony
Argue with those words and what they mean to choices. You can be an Internet Ike Turner all you want Smitty, Walt and BetterRecognize but I have seen through your tired empty logic.

This isn't new...in many countries, all throughout history, poor working class girls have had to resort to letting men take them out for dinner and dancing just to be able to have a little fun...or even to eat.
But in the words of Marilyn Monroe: "Don't you know that a woman being pretty, is just like a man being rich?"
Do we expect women to earn as much financially for the household? No, even in today's modern society, we don't. We expect men to earn more.
Do we expect women to fight with their fists when their honor is impugned? No, we don't. We don't even allow men to do that anymore, true, but still...that's a man thing.
Money is a man's thing, and beauty is a woman's thing. There are exceptions: cougars and male escorts, anyone?
If women are ho's for expecting gifts of monetary value from men, what are men for expecting to enjoy the company of a woman, expecting to be able to touch her, to take liberties with her, to call her and speak to her....all things that are SOLD and have concrete monetary prices?

Man please nobody buying that bull..You can't eat beauty I rather have a real big juicy sirloin steak..Don't be praising a woman on sexuality as the deal is you don't have to buy company.Women know dam well how to hook a fool and fool's know how to be just that.If anything she should be licking your feet you are the one who bust your @$$ to have and make money then go spend it on worthless sex with them. The exchange will never justify the means when all women want is an easy ride.Stop thinking you gotta cater to them and grow some real balls will be the day women will have no more free lunches.

Even though I am an average-looking, 49 y/o guy, there have been a few times in my life when a woman has eyed me up and down, licking her chops. It happened just yesterday. Immediately I felt the situation to be very demeaning, which surprised me. However, I consider myself so average-looking that if a woman looks at me like that, instinct tells me that the woman is targeting me for some scam: A. She is attempting to get that pricey engagement ring from her boyfriend who's nearby by making him jealous. B. She, herself, is a "half-ho". C. She's actually one half of a criminal operation...a woman who is attempting to lure me out to the parking lot where she and her boyfriend may attack and mug me. D. She's a "typhoid Mary" with AIDS, and, in her anger, is trying to "share the love".
For some time, I've said that I find some strange sense of admiration for either a "full-timer" or a "half-ho", as opposed to a woman who seeks to marry for money, because at least the "ho" is being up front about it!
