Ladies:
- Proper undergarments – Make sure you don the appropriate size and coverage when in comes to bras. In addition, don't forget to wear a slip or body shaper to hide panty lines.
- Complimentary make-up shades – Invest the time to find the perfect foundation, lip stick and blush shades for your complexion. Remember that the colors that suit you in the fall may not work in the summer due to tanning.
- Dress for your body type – Accept your curves (or lack there of) and determine what shape your body is (pear, curvy, boyish, etc.). Next up? Hunt for the styles that complement your figure. (On a budget? Check out thrift shops or shop your friends' closets. You can pay them the favor in return.)
- Signature hairstyle – Getting your hair whipped into shape is an instant confidence booster. Find out your facial shape (heart, oval, square, etc.) and get a 'do that's perfect for you. (On a budget? Stop by your local hair school and pay half price for the same look)
- Well-groomed details – No style is complete without the proper hygiene, so make sure your breath, armpits and face are fresh. Plus, don't forget to check your nails and feet (if they are exposed). Plucking your brows is a plus.
Guys:
- Freshly groomed suit – Make sure your suit is ironed and clean. And wear one!
- Proper undergarments – For men it's simple: Make sure to wear the appropriate type of undershirt for the dress shirt you WILL be wearing.
- A clean cut – A newly coiffed 'do screams hire me. If you have locks or braids get an edge up.
- Coordinate – Take the time to find belts and shoes that match or complement each other. Little touches like these, with a watch that looks mature, are all a man needs to look put together.
- Well-groomed details – Same as the ladies – and don't forget to trim your body hair (nose, ears, beards and mustaches). On men, these areas can get unruly and be off-putting -- the last thing you need when you are trying to package yourself.
