Kelly Rowland has been having a rocky time since she left the guiding patronage of
Mathew Knowles as father figure and manager. Aside from her international hit song 'When Love Takes Over,' Rowland has not been able to kindle the mainstream success she was able to achieve with Destiny's Child on her own. Too bad 'When Love Takes Over' was a song on the album of superproducer and DJ David Guetta, not one of Rowland's three failed solo albums. Aside from making personal appearances singing, it is unclear what Kelly's sources of income have been since her Destiny's Child years. At the same time, she has
allegedly been known to spend big.
And now to top it all off, Kelly is facing financial persecution from the last institution you want on your case -- the IRS. The Detroit News
reports:
Grammy-Award winning singer Kelly Rowland, sidekick to Beyonce in the group Destiny's Child, owes the IRS more than $98,000 in delinquent federal taxes, according to public records.
Rowland, 29, rose to fame in the girl group, which broke through with the 1999 hit tune "Bills, Bills, Bills." After the group broke up, she released a few solo albums and maintains an acting career that included portraying Motown legend (and ex-Detroit Councilwoman/tax delinquent) Martha Reeves in a 2003 episode of the TV show "American Dreams."

Let's hope that Ms. Kelly is not behind on her bills, because she has run out of money to pay them. It's unfortunately common for celebrities to get into tax trouble because their accountants are asleep on the job, while the money for their taxes is there. Or at least this is the excuse that stars most frequently give for
why they owe Uncle Sam. There is no way to tell why Kelly Roland owes the IRS almost $100,000. Perhaps it was a simple error in money management. We've all been there. You always have more bills when you have more money. And the more bills you have, the easier it is to let one slip through the cracks.

The problem is they don't have a backup plan; a plan B. Beyonce at least has a design house. Kelly needs good management (like Fantasia has) who can get her endorsement deals. She (and the others) also need to start investing in a string of salons. That's the backup plan - a business that will keep on giving.

You are so correct! These "celebrities" think that their smile and cuteness will keep the money rolling in. They seem to think that they are precious to the world - news flash - they are not. They have no back-up plan when the world is over them. It's a shame.

Her long time friend and former group mate Beyonce made over seventy million last year. I am sure she should be good for a loan to get back on her feet.

NEWSFLASH NUMB BRAIN: A PERSON CAN'T EXPECT SOMEBODY ELSE TO BAIL THEM THEM OUT, WHEN SHE SHOULD'VE BEEN USING COMMON SENSE, KEEPING TRACK OF HER MONEY, AND MAKING SURE SHE WOULD ALWAYS HAVE ENOUGH FOR A RAINY DAY TO FALL BACK ON.
THESE STARS BECOME RICH AND SPEND TONS OF MONEY ON THE STUPIDIST THINGS.... AND BUY HOUSES ALL OVER THE PLACE. KELLY LIKE ALOT OF BLACK CELEBRITIES DONT USE THEIR HEADS WHICH IS WHAT ALWAYS GETS THEM IN TROUBLE DEEP.
SHE CAN'T EXPECT BEYONCE, WHO'S ON TOP TO COME TO HER RESCUE AND PAY HER BILL.... UNLESS SHE WANTS TO DO IT FROM HER HEART LIKE THE TRUE AND CLOSE FAMILY LIKE SHE CLAIMED KELLY WAS TO HER IONS AGO.

i think it's a case of too much too soon. even though she has been a professional for many years, it looks as though she didn't take the time to learn how too handle her assets. This seems to be all too common with celebraties. i almost fainted when the late Ed Mc mahone's house was going into forclosure. He had been a success long before Kelly was born. It happens to a lot of people, but mostly those that don't have a strong and savy support system. i beleive she will bounce back, and hope she has learned the value of the buck,
and when you can't run with the big dogs just stay on the porch. anyway good luck Kelly, and keep your head up, you're in good company.

Now, let me make sure that I understand this: Kelly Rowland, 1/3 member of Destiny Child, a group that sold 50 millions records over the course of eight years, is broke?!?!? You have got to be kidding?!?! What happened to all the royalty checks? What about all those commercial endorsements?! One of two things happened: Poor management or financial irresponsibility from Ms Rowland. Either way, this is yet ANOTHER case where our folks end up on the short-end of the deal! I hope and pray that this is only a case of oversight!

I guess Kelly was running around like a damn fool hanging out with the likes of Kim Kardashian and spending $400,000 on a night out on the town. If that's not the epitome of stupidity I don't know what is. After all Kelly ought to have enough sense to see she ain't got it like Beyonce who has a rich husband to boot. If I was Bey I wouldn't give Kelly squat but the phone number to a financial planner. Kelly should know that she wouldn't even be where she is now if it weren't for the Knowles cause Kelly ain't all that talented nor is she all that cute.

What you and the Stodhill forget is that the two alleged failure albums (the 3rd one is due to February) were a failure of the Knowles team IN AMERICA. The knowles team was so determined to give the best music producers, contracts, promo plans, gigs, endorsement to Beyonce. And even with that Kelly had hits like WORK and STOLE which were huge overseas. First thing that happened when she fired Knowles is that she cowrites a huge GLOBAL HIT that left people thinking "She has a voice" why she didn't get to showcase her beautiful voice (in my opinion, more powerful and nice than Beyonce) before. Now that she is making a lot of international buzz about her new singles (Commander was a hit in Europe and more people is taking notice) casually IRS call kelly. Certainly they are not calling her about her income of past five months. I believe They are calling her for financial managament of the time she was under Knowles management. Another thing they didn't do for this beautiful woman (check her forever and a day video and tell me if her body is not more toned than beyoncès and teeth are also better)was providing her of a good financial planner and an accountant.
