There are lots and lots of African American business people that are doing very well. We just never hear about it in main stream media. Generally speaking the media would whether do a story on a needy person, than a story on an African American that is thriving.

You are absolutely correct ! The media helps to perpetuate this idea that all African-Americans are lazy welfare recipients and that simply isn't true !
There are plenty of African-American business owners and entrepreneurs who go unnoticed unless you read Black Enterprise magazine !
Outside of B.E., most people are not aware of great African-American owned businesses or their owners !

Black history month...we should celebrate the achievements of African American every week, every month. Not just let the media promote negative images for black people. We are much more than Rappers, Athletes and criminals!
