From Bankrate.com:I know the foreclosure crisis has been super-bad, but now it's even badder, given that it's knocking on the door of the baddest, most ridiculously funky musician to ever emerge from the frozen north: the Minnesota Landowner Currently Known as Prince. Or MLCKP, if you prefer.

Whoever is doing your research for you needs to be fired. The Artist paid his mortgage in full on April 22 of this year. :-p
You need some better researchers.

Prince needs to Mature.
If Price is a wise man he will begin investing what he can while, he is young. If Prince is a wise man he'll be relistic and downsize his living. His money problems are a warning.Every star falls some never rebound.
Let's be real.Prince music is nothing new.The novality/thrill is gone.Plus, he riding on his name and old songs to sell his concerts. His concerts since,1987 do not match his early shows.I notice Prince saves his voice 1/2 the night in concert asking the audience to join him in a sing a long.We pay large sums of mony to hear him sing and play.
His concerts after 1987 are becomingmore and more the old Mickey Mouse Show of the 50's revised at Prince concerts.
I'm not hating.I've been a loyal fan for years.I say this out of love and concern for one of the greatest music artist in my generation.Don't become blinded, tricked a fool Prince and end up like so many great black artist who end up sick, broke and abondanded by record companies and who have no money for medical bills or funeral cost or who end up like the late great Redd Foxx.
You might consider having more jams sessions when you voice is weak or if you are trying to save your voice for the next week long run in New York City's Madsion Square Garden.Times are tight for our money as well Prince. Please consider us.

Prince Refuses to Record New Music Due to Lack of Digital Copyright Laws
Date: 6/25/2011 8:32:23 AM | Connie Tang/ Singersroom.com
"There has never been any doubt that veteran and legendary musician Prince is a strong advocate against digital piracy. Ever since 2007, Prince has been fighting against copyright issues, such as from suing YouTube, eBay, and even websites that used and featured anything related to him. Just last year, the singer teamed up with publications to release his album '20Ten' as a covermount, and refused digital download services from having access to the project.
In his latest interview with UK newspaper, 'The Guardian,' Prince expressed his disdain for how much the music industry has changed in its new found technological age. The singer noted how though he may have tons of unreleased material, fans should not expect any new album to come about anytime soon, if at all.
"The industry changed," he says. "We made money [online] before piracy was real crazy. Nobody's making money now except phone companies, Apple and Google. I'm supposed to go to the White House to talk about copyright protection. It's like the gold rush out there. Or a carjacking. There's no boundaries. I've been in meetings and they'll tell you, Prince, you don't understand, it's dog-eat-dog out there. So I'll just hold off on recording."
"I personally can't stand digital music," he continues. "You're getting sound in bits. It affects a different place in your brain. When you play it back, you can't feel anything. We're analogue people, not digital."
Also in the piece, Prince talks about his admiration for singers Adele and Janelle Monae, his contempt to Glee covering his "Kiss" record, and his ability to come off as a "loving tyrant" to his band members.
Prince is currently overseas in Europe, and he is set to be the headliner for the Heinken Open'er festival in Poland."
Prince isn't just performing his old favorites but he's also performing new ones. Prince is always reinventing himself and that's the sign of a genius!

@ Really, I agree with everything you wrote. There's no musician from back in the day that is still on top like they were back then. Most ole school singers are still performing because they’ve to-not because they want to. Music companies get paid off of the top because since it was their money that footed the bill and since the invention of the internet and piracy, many artists-singers and actors are truly feeling the pinch.
Prince is doing really well considering how long he’s been performing and the fact that a younger generation is digging his music, is a testament to how loved Prince is. Adding that very attractive great ballet dancer to his shows didn’t hurt any either. I believe she’s from Brooklyn and her name is Misty.
Prince is a philanthropist and he gives millions to charities. Perhaps if he stop looking out for everybody else he could save more money.
